12-19 September 2026 in Lajares, Fuerteventura – 4 spots left!
The Art of Yoga is a 7-day immersive retreat and 50-hour Yoga Alliance Continuing Education training dedicated to clarity, coherence, and depth of practice.
It is designed for those who feel the need to slow down and reconnect with the essential structures of yoga — not to learn more techniques, but to understand more clearly what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how different methods fit together.
In contemporary yoga, it is easy to accumulate experiences, styles, and influences. While this richness can be inspiring, it can also leave practitioners and teachers feeling fragmented or uncertain about how to organize their practice over time. This retreat offers space to pause, study, and gently reorganize one’s understanding, allowing practice to become simpler, more grounded, and more sustainable.
Throughout the week, practice and study are woven together to support both embodiment and reflection. Physical practice is approached as a laboratory: a place to observe, refine, and listen. Workshops provide context, language, and structure, helping participants connect experience with understanding.
Rather than proposing a single “right way,” The Art of Yoga offers tools to recognize underlying principles, to discern what is essential, and to develop a personal relationship with practice that can evolve over time.
This retreat is an invitation to return to yoga as a living discipline: an invitation to slow down, simplify, and reconnect with the fundamentals that make yoga a coherent, transformative discipline. It is about intention, technique, understanding, and devotion.
In a context where yoga is often experienced through many styles, influences, and interpretations, this retreat offers space to pause, study, and reorganize one’s practice with care and precision.
Not by adding more —
but by seeing more clearly.

Our Invitation
This retreat is designed to support a clearer understanding of the different main hatha yoga methods, the ability to build a sustainable personal practice, and refined relationship with the techniques of breath, posture, attention, and meditation. It is also an event thought for teacher who want to build confidence and a clear understanding of sequencing and structuring classes that feel authentic, down to earth and truly embodied. We promote a grounded approach to philosophy as lived experience, referring to the eternal teachings of Classical Yoga, Advaita Vedanta and Post Classical, non dual Tantra.
Rather than focusing on accumulation, clutter and making practice a fancy event, the work is oriented toward simplicity and integration: connecting practice, study, and lived experience into something clear, usable, and alive.
With love,
Carolina

With over 15 years of dedicated practice and 10 years of teaching experience, Carolina will be your main instructors. Rooted devotion and in the authentic teachings of Hatha Yoga, Tantra, and Advaita Vedānta, her approach balances tradition with modern understanding: she studied under highly respected teachers such as Pandit Rajmani Tigunait (Swami Rama Lineage), Eva Espeita, Talia Sutra and Indu Arora, as well as in academic settings, gaining a MA in Arts & Cultures. She holds space from her most sincere devotional practice, with both tenderness and precision, offering students the tools to explore their bodies, minds, and inner landscapes with confidence and integrity. Do I need to be a yoga teacher to join?
No, you don’t need to be a certified yoga teacher, but you need to be a little familiar with hatha yoga or with some form of physical discipline: we encourage you to arrive with at least a basic movement routine in order not to overwhelm your body with an abrupt change in habits. We believe that this course is helpful for anybody who is interested in practicing any form of hatha yoga: a practice that involves the use of the body (asana, mudra, bandha, breathing and sitting in meditation). If you are a teacher, this retreat can count towards your YA Continuing Education and it is worth 50h. The issuing of the diploma has an extra cost of €30.
Are there any Pre-Requirements for participation?
In general, no. However: it’s important that you understand that yoga is not a therapy group or substitute for therapy: if you feel like you are deeply struggling with mental health or you are easily activated, this is probably not a good option for you at this very moment as we will actively and purposefully work with challenge and rigour, which are intrinsic to hatha yoga. It is important that you know how to regulate yourself and, in general, that you can be a container for your experiences. This ensures a safe space for all the participants. Nobody’s perfect and it’s ok to have some triggers and challenges, but you need to be able to contain them and be responsible for them.
What certification will I receive?
Upon request, you can apply to receive a 50h Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Certificate. The course is fully recognized by this organization and it can count on your education hours. The certification costs 30€ on top of the event’s price. You need to apply for the certificate no later that 2 weeks after the event has ended. You will receive a digital copy (PDF) of the diploma, signed and stamped.
Is attendance to all classes mandatory?
No it isn’t, unless you want to receive a certificate. In that case, you are expected to be present and participative. However, you will be asked to observe schedules and a yogic lifestyle at all times.
Is this event vegan?
Yes, this event is vegan. The only exception that will be offered occasionally is ghee, which is a fundamental ayurvedic ingredient. However, it will always be set aside for you to decide if you want to try it or not. During your day offs and nights offs you can eat what you want, but you are not allowed to bring any non-vegan food in the house.
What is the food gonna be like?
The food is vegan and indian/ayurvedic cuisine-based. All meals will be balanced and thought through by our chef. Please come with an open mind: the food is delicious, but it could feel less familiar than your usual pasta/bread/vegan burger options.
Are there gonna be rules during the retreat?
Yes, this event is a yogic experience. There will be no shoes in the house, no non-vegan food allowed, you are going to be asked to be clean and tidy at all times and to come to class timely. You will be asked to observe silence in the morning as you wake up, until the first practice has ended. You cannot bring any alcohol, smoke or recreational drugs in the house and you are expected to join practices clean and sober.
I have an allergy, can you accomodate it?
Yes, we can. As far as it is compatible with a vegan diet, we can accomodate gluten free/nuts free and most common allergies.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, you can. You can pay the retreat in 4 instalments if you pick the shared double room option. An automatic recurring payment will be set up for you upon choosing the plan option.
When should I arrive? What time is check in/out?
Check in is from 3.30PM. Please arrive at the villa before 6.30pm in order to enjoy our first dinner together.
Check out is at 10.30AM
Is a rental car necessary?
It is not a mandatory thing, but it is highly, HIGHLY recommended. All previous retreat participants deeply regretted their decision when they didn’t get one. There is no reliable/efficient/direct public transportation from and to the airport and to get around the island in general. A rental car for an entire week will cost you just as much as a taxi from and to the airport transfer alone (taxis are expensive!) and it will give you freedom to enjoy your week. Retreat participants are highly encouraged to book one and they will be put in contact immediately so they can book it together and share the cost. The cost of car rental is very low and competitive, usually it doesn’t require a credit card and it is cancellable until 24h in advance. However, it needs to be reserved well in advance as it will be high season.
