Why Choose This Training?

“You and I are probably very similar. I know exactly how you feel because I was in your shoes about ten years ago…”

You’re searching for a yoga teacher training that actually means something. A place where yoga isn’t stripped of its soul and reduced to sequences, but where you’re taught to embody yoga as a way of being—through wisdom, breath, and practice. You want to feel confident in what you’re learning, to know that it stands on centuries of tradition—not trends or diluted teachings. You’re looking for clarity, solid foundations, and the tools to teach yoga authentically and responsibly, knowing you’re held by something far greater than yourself.

This training exists for people like you.

At Nereya Yoga School, you won’t just “learn” yoga—you will study it, live it, and integrate it. Our foundation is the time-honored tradition of Tantric Hatha Yoga, as outlined in texts like the Hatha Yoga Pradīpikā, but also the Yoga Sūtra, and the Bhagavad Gītā. However, this isn’t dusty philosophy: it’s living knowledge, paired with anatomy, breathwork, and modern therapeutic tools that make it relevant to today’s world. You will learn the postures, yes, but you will, most importantly, learn how to cultivate spirituality, how to practice yoga to evolve as a person and liberate yourself from ignorance, how to breathe, how to hold space, and how to honor the responsibility of teaching yoga with integrity.

Because being a yoga teacher is not just about perfecting poses. It’s about being grounded in knowledge, committed to your practice, and capable of guiding others in a way that transforms lives—starting with your own.

This training is for those who don’t settle for shortcuts. It’s for the seekers, the questioners, the ones who know deep down that yoga is more. I’ve designed it to be rigorous but accessible, structured yet spacious, and always held by an authentic lineage and a genuine love for this practice.

When you step out of this training, you will not only feel confident as a teacher, but you will stand strong, knowing that you have something real to offer—a gift passed down through the traditions of yoga. You’ll have clarity. You’ll have confidence. And most importantly, you’ll have a deep, unshakable connection to yoga as a path, a practice, and a lifelong teacher.

If you’ve been searching for a yoga teacher training that makes you say, “Yes, this is it,” welcome. You’ve found it.

My invitation

Dear Seeker…

Perhaps you’ve felt it—this longing for something deeper. A desire to not just do yoga, but to understand it, to live it, and to let it transform you. Whether you’re here to become a teacher or to simply explore the depths of your own practice, this invitation is for you.

This training is a space for sincere seekers, like yourself, who feel called to study yoga as it was meant to be: a profound path of self-discovery and liberation. You don’t need to want to teach to be here—your presence, your questions, and your dedication are enough. This is a journey for those who long to reconnect with themselves and the ancient wisdom that has guided humans for centuries toward peace, clarity, and freedom.

For over 15 years, yoga has been my path. For the last 10, it has been my privilege to teach—holding space for others to uncover their strength, their stillness, and their truth. I know what it means to feel lost in the noise of modern yoga, where depth is often sacrificed for convenience. That’s not what you’ll find here.

This training is a sanctuary—a place to be guided with tenderness and unwavering steadiness, where you are supported to explore, question, and grow. You will not be rushed. You will not be left behind. Together, we will build the foundations you need to feel clear, grounded, and confident—whether you wish to teach or simply to know yoga in its fullness.

If you’ve been seeking a training that feels like home, a place where yoga is taught with reverence, integrity, and love, know that you are welcome here. Whether your intention is to teach or simply to learn, this path has space for you.

May this training bring you clarity, connection, and the quiet joy of knowing you are walking a path that is true and timeless.

It’s time to come home to yourself.

With love,

Carolina

She holds space from her most sincere devotional practice, with both tenderness and precision, offering students the tools to explore their bodies, minds, and inner landscapes with confidence and integrity. Carolina brings a blend of depth, clarity, and care to her work, as she loves teaching – not only yoga – just as much as being an eternal student.

FAQs

If by ‘advanced’ you mean that you have to be able to do many asanas, the answer is a bold: NO! Absolutely, you don’t need to be able to perform any particular asana – by the way, someone who can is not necessarily an advanced yogi! However, you do need to be a dedicated practitioner: have practiced yoga for about 1/2 years with love and consistency (any form of yoga!) and be very curious to delve into hatha yoga, tantra, bhakti, and all that is in the curriculum. What you need to be is a committed student!

The programs at Nereya Yoga School (NYS) are designed to be deeply engaging on mental, emotional, energetic, and physical levels. These are immersive learning experiences, not holidays or retreats. Participants should be prepared for 10 hours of daily classes, with punctual attendance and compliance with NYS’s Code of Conduct.

The primary requirement is a full acknowledgment and acceptance of the challenges that may arise, along with a commitment to navigate and work through them with personal accountability.

Equally important is a genuine faith in the process and a foundational trust and respect for NYS as a school and its teachers. It is recommended that applicants have some prior experience with Hatha Yoga (1 year ideally) and NYS teachings, such as attending classes or workshops led by Carolina Benzi, either in person or online. You can read more about it here

There are no physical prerequisites to join—you don’t need to be flexible to participate. What is essential is a sincere desire to learn and the willingness to stay present, even in challenging moments.

Teaching after completing the program is not a requirement; many participants enroll for personal growth and inner exploration. However, to receive certification, all trainees must fully engage in the Practice Teach components of the program.

If you have any doubt, Carolina is more than happy to schedule a free call with you and assess your current situation!

You will receive a certificate of completion from Nereya Yoga School which is registered school (RYS 200) with Yoga Alliance. Therefore, the certificate will have a Yoga Alliance seal on it and it will indicate that you have completed a ‘200h Yoga Teacher Training Course’. However, in order to register with Yoga Alliance (YA) as a teacher (RYT), you will need to submit an application to YA independently. This process will be explained to you at the end of the training in case that’s something you want to do. Yoga Alliance is a globally recognized institution which imposes certain standards on yoga training, especially in Western settings. Nereya Yoga School’s 200h Trainings FAR EXCEED Yoga Alliance minimum requirements!

You don’t need to be a spiritual person already, but you need to be very open to explore this aspect of human culture and existence. Yoga is a spiritual practice, and spirituality cannot be removed from yoga: if you want to learn more about this practice, you need to be ok about learning more about spirituality and, in particular: hinduism, buddhism, jain and sikh culture, eastern philosophy, mystics and esoteric practices. You can also approach it just as an intellectual exercise, but you need to be very respectful of other’s devotional practice in case that’s not something that you personally connect with.

Yes, absolutely. This training is also 100% a study course for practitioners and it is an incredible learning experience. However, you must take into account that it is NOT a retreat: it is rigorous, it is demanding physically, emotionally and energetically. Also, remember that part of the training is about learning to teach and share practices, so you have 2 options here: either try to do the practicums anyway and take it as a way to see if you have embodied what you have learned, or act as a student-only and help your fellow students to practice their own teaching skills. However, IN THIS LAST CASE you will NOT graduate and receive a diploma. To graduate you need to sit an exam and several practicums.

No, it is not. Nereya Yoga School’s programs are challenging mentally, emotionally, energetically and physically. They are not retreats or holidays. There are eight/ten hours daily of classes and all classes must be attended on time, while following Nereya Yoga School’s Code of Conduct. Therefore, the most important requirement is the complete acknowledgment, acceptance and personal responsibility to meet, face and work with the challenge as it reveals itself.

You are expected to be tidy, clean and very careful in anything you do. This is 100% part of your sadhana and yogic training process. Discipline, cleanliness and respect of others are yogic observances and practices you will be expected to integrate. We will absolutely have professionals coming to help us deep cleaning the premises every 3/4 days and a full change of towels and sheets will be done during the training.

HOWEVER, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO:

  • Make your bed every single day
  • Keep you room tidy, with clothes hanged or folded neatly, shoes outside or in appropriate location, books and manuals never on the floor. Dirty clothes always kept away in a separate bag ready for laundry.
  • Be mindful of trash disposal and clean after yourself if you use any facility/appliance
  • Take a shower after every physical practice
  • Clean your feet regularly as you will often walk/practice barefoot
  • Clean your hands carefully as you may often touch others to learn how bodies move/learn hands on assists

YES, we WILL check that you observe all of this. This is Saucha – yogic cleanliness.

To obtain the Nereya Yoga School (NYS) 200-hour certification, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Complete and submit all pre-training assignments.
  • Attend every scheduled session of the contact hours punctually.
  • Demonstrate competence during the practicum portion of the program and exam.
  • Transition to a vegetarian diet at least one month before the training begins* and maintain a vegetarian/vegan diet throughout the onsite immersion.
  • Abstain from alcohol and recreational drugs for at least one month before the training*. While onsite, no alcohol, drug use, or smoking of any kind is permitted.

*this is mostly a suggestion in order to feel good during the training and not to experience an abrupt change in your diet or nervous system while onsite. If your diet is omnivore or you are used to drinking and smoking, changing and quitting it all together without having done a transition period is not recommendable!

NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED ON THESE RULES.

Deposits secure your spot on the training and are not refundable. Refunds for the balance payments vary depending on timing. A detailed document will be provided to you explaining everything before you sign up. But just to summarize:

For cancellation requests submitted with more than 60 days of the training date: You may transfer to a future program or choose to get refunded 100% of total amount (less deposit, which is never refundable).

There are no refunds for cancellation requests submitted within 60 days of training date, no exceptions.

Nobody books with the intention of cancelling, but unexpected events do occur, so please consider purchasing travel insurance. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits will be granted for failure to attend or complete the program or for arriving late or leaving early.

In the extremely unlikely instance that we are forced to cancel the training, you will be refunded 100%, including the deposit. HOWEVER WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL EXPENSES REFUND (eg: flights). Purchase a travel insurance if you are unsure.

Nereya Yoga School (NYS) Teacher Trainings are created exclusively for enrolled participants, fostering a focused and immersive environment. Only individuals registered for the training or those explicitly authorized by NYS management are permitted to remain on the premises. As such, the presence of unauthorized, unregistered guests is not allowed.

This policy ensures that all participants can fully engage in the experience and that the integrity of the program is upheld.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines.

We are very sorry, but no.

This training has to be taken fully, rigorously and timely.

If you wish to participate in a shorter program, check our YACEP courses.
